Privacy Policy

Overview

Costello Law Firm PLLC (the firm) respects the privacy of everyone who visits costellolawfirm.com. This policy explains what information the website collects, how the firm uses it, and the choices available to you. It applies only to this website. Information shared with the firm during a consultation or representation is governed by the firm's professional obligations and the terms of any engagement.

01

Information you choose to share

When you submit a consultation request through the website, the firm receives the information you enter: your name, email address, phone number, company or organization if you provide it, your preferred contact method, what is most immediately affected, and the type of legal process underway. The process options are government investigation or grand jury matter; criminal investigation or charge; regulatory or agency inquiry; professional licensing matter; business or employment dispute; civil litigation; compliance or general counsel question; or not sure.

The firm asks for general procedural information only. Please do not include confidential, privileged, health care or other highly sensitive facts on this website. Subject to its legal and professional obligations, the firm deletes consultation information that includes health care information upon detection. If a more detailed conversation is appropriate on topics that include confidential, privileged, health related or other highly sensitive information, the firm can arrange a secure way to discuss the matter, at its sole discretion or decline to do so.

02

How the firm uses it

The firm uses the information you submit to respond to your inquiry, determine whether it may be able to assist, check for potential conflicts of interest, and schedule a consultation when appropriate.

The firm does not sell or rent your information and does not use it for advertising or any other purpose than stated above.

03

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, the site's hosting provider processes basic technical information, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from misuse.

The firm uses privacy-focused analytics that measure overall site traffic without cookies and without keeping a lasting record of individual visitors.

04

Cookies and tracking

The website does not use advertising cookies and does not track visitors across other websites. Because of this, the site does not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

05

Service providers

The firm relies on a small number of providers operating the website, each acting on the firm's behalf:

  • A web company to host and secure the website
  • A practice management system that receives and stores consultation requests
  • A privacy-focused analytics service that measures aggregate site traffic

The firm does not otherwise share information submitted through the website, except when required by law or with your permission.

07

Security

The firm takes reasonable measures to protect information submitted through the website. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, which is one reason the form asks for general information only.

08

How long is the information kept

The firm transfers consultation information for engaged matters to the client file. For non-engaged matters, subject to its legal and professional obligation, the firm keeps the information up to 60 days and then deletes it. In the instance that a consultation includes health care information, subject to its legal and professional obligations, the information is deleted upon detection by the firm.

09

Your choices

You may ask the firm to access, correct, or delete information you submitted through the website. The firm may need to keep some information when required by law or its professional obligations.

10

Children

The website is not directed to children under 13, and the firm does not knowingly collect their information.

11

Not legal advice

The information on this website is general information and does not constitute legal advice. Viewing this site or contacting the firm does not create an attorney-client relationship.

12

The firm may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last revised.
